F.O.I.X

 Bonjour!

So.. What's our purpose of going to France?

Simply for:
4 Days Management Game Competition in The Université de Toulouse!

Foix is a commune, the capital of the Ariège department in southwestern France. It is the least populous administrative centre of a department in all of France, although it is only very slightly smaller than Privas. It lies south of Toulouse, close to the border with Spain and Andorra.

Surrounded by mountains and sliced with rivers ~

Nothing to do in the bus and it's freaking cold!

On The Way - View ~ :D

And here we are doing the project in the class!

Snap some pictures during lunch break.

And they are my group members for the Project. It's randomly formed by the University.

And nothing feels better than being a Champion! Yabba Dabba Doo! B)

Time for refreshing trip after the tough time.

We went to visit Château de Foix.

The Château de Foix is a castle which dominates the town of Foix in the French département of Ariège. An important tourist site, it is known as a centre of the Cathars. It has been listed as a monument historique by the French Ministry of Culture.

Château de Foix seen from the town .

View of the town from Château de Foix.

Gosh.. Now I miss it so so sooo much! :')

à bientôt !

Cheers,
Shannon

J'adore Paris

"What cross your mind when you hear the word 'Paris' ?"

Paris - The Romantic and Fashionable City

A trip from Taylor's University. We were about to visit our University in France;
University of Toulouse II - Le Mirail in Foix.
But we stopped by Paris for a few days. And it's a Fabulous Trip! ♥

As always, me and my sweetie roomie; Ervina Tandean!
In the bus, going to the Airport very soon. Sadly we can't take the same flight.
Since they separate the group based on our name alphabet. "S" for Shannon and "E" for Ervina. You know how far is the difference. :)

Arrived in Paris. Picture taken in front of our Budget Hotel.

Do you see the train route? Okay, grab the map and enjoy the journey ~

Never miss this! Who in the world do not know Louis Vuitton?

The Arc de Triomphe (Arc de Triomphe de l'Étoile) is one of the most famous monuments in Paris. It stands in the centre of the Place Charles de Gaulle (originally named Place de l'Étoile), at the western end of the Champs-Élysées.

Ladurée | Sweets & Gourmandises

For Desserts Lover, Sweets Lover and Patisserie Lover.. Owh This is a MUST place to visit!

"The history of Parisian tea salons is intimately tied to the history of the Ladurée family.
It all began in 1862, when Louis Ernest Ladurée, a miller from France’s southwest, created a bakery at 16 rue Royale in Paris."

Find out more about Ladurée here:

The Eiffel Tower, nickname La dame de fer, (the iron lady) is a puddle iron lattice tower located on the Champ de Mars in Paris. Built in 1889, it has become both a global icon of France and one of the most recognizable structures in the world. The tower is the tallest building in Paris and the most-visited paid monument in the world; millions of people ascend it every year. Named after its designer,
engineer Gustave Eiffel, the tower was built as the entrance arch to the 1889 World's Fair.

Notre Dame de Paris (French for Our Lady of Paris), also known as Notre Dame Cathedral, is a Gothic, Roman Catholic cathedral on the eastern half of the Île de la Cité in the fourth arrondissement of Paris. It is the cathedral of the Catholic Archdiocese of Paris: that is, it is the church that contains the cathedra (official chair) of the Archbishop of Paris, currently André Vingt-Trois. The cathedral treasury houses a reliquary with the purported Crown of Thorns.

The Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel is a triumphal arch in Paris, located in the Place du Carrousel on the site of the former Tuileries Palace. It was built between 1806 and 1808 to commemorate Napoleon's military victories of the previous year. The more famous Arc de Triomphe de l'Étoile nearby was designed in the same year, but it took thirty years to build, and it is about twice as massive.

CHARTIER RESTAURANT
"Classified historic building in 1989, the restaurant has already known two centuries and is well prepared to get through this brand new one. It is both a prestigious actor of the restaurant business and a privileged witness of parisian life. In this wonderful place, favourable for sweet nostalgy, fifty billions bellies have been satisfied since its creation."

A very famous restaurant in Paris. We went there for dinner but we did not get our turn since the queue is too long. We came back on the day after. :D

So.. After practicing your French all day long, you are longing for a cold one and chill ~
Corcoran's - Irish Pub is a great bet. The staff we met were all native English speaker.

And if you are looking for a fine dining restaurant there are really a LOTS in Paris.
You can easily google for a top ten lunch or an exclusive dinner, a French haute cuisine restaurant, star restaurants and refined gastronomic cuisine.

But we didn't go there. We just went to an affordable and cozy restaurant to try a must try food when you go to France!

The Margret de Canard - Seared Medallions of Duck Breast.

This is the Moulin Rouge, one of several world-famous showclubs in Paris, and the club where the then-wicked French can-can dance was first performed. Moulin Rouge means “red mill," and, as you can see, there is indeed a red mill at the Moulin Rouge.

But we went there in the noon time. Cos that place is lil' naughty in the evening esp at midnight. Hihihi..

And here we are in the train again.. Going to Foix, but will stop by Andorra for a day. :D

This is Andorra!
Andorra also called the Principality of the Valleys of Andorra, (Principat de les Valls d'Andorra), is a small landlocked country in southwestern Europe, located in the eastern Pyrenees mountains and bordered by Spain and France. It is the sixth smallest nation in Europe.

It is a Duty Free Country and we just went for shopping the whole day ~ B)

The journey did not end here..
I'll post more about Foix (our purpose of going to France from the University),
on my next post. ;)

Cheers,
Shannon
